The rubber cover actually seals tight, so no dust gets into the USB port on my side-by-side. Cable reached from the dash hole to my radio with plenty of slack left over.

Installed this in the dash of my boat and the 6-foot pass-through cable gave me plenty of slack to reach the stereo. The UV-resistant cover is holding up fine after a summer of direct sun, no cracking or fading so far. Mounting hole lined up perfectly at 1.5 inches.
